What is Make for Good?Make for Good is a Charlotte-based nonprofit that connects creative professionals with local nonprofits to make change possible. Through our annual Make-a-thon and year-round community, we help organizations access creative expertise while giving creatives meaningful ways to use their talents for good.
What is a Make-a-thon?The Make for Good Make-a-thon is a one-day collaborative event where teams of creative professionals partner with local nonprofits to tackle meaningful projects from branding and messaging to websites, campaigns, photography, video, strategy, and more. Ultimately, nonprofits leave with work that helps move their mission forward.
What kinds of projects are selected?Projects should have the potential to create lasting value for an organization and be achievable in one day, such as:
- Brand identity or messaging
- Marketing campaigns
- Website design or content
- Photography or (some) video
- Fundraising materials
- Social media strategy
- Print collateral
- Communications planning
When is the 2026 Make-a-thon?The seventh annual Make for Good Make-a-thon will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Sparkhouse Charlotte Uptown.
We will host an info session on Wednesday, August 5—also at Sparkhouse Uptown—where you can learn more about what participation looks like and how to sign up or apply.
Who can volunteer?Anyone with creative skills is welcome. We regularly bring together designers, writers, strategists, photographers, videographers, marketers, UX/UI designers, project managers, and creative leaders.
Whether you're early in your career or have decades of experience, there's a place for you.
Who can apply?Charlotte-area nonprofit organizations with a clearly defined creative need are encouraged to apply.
Projects are selected based on impact, readiness, and the scope that can realistically be accomplished during the Make-a-thon.
